[Discovering the simple life]
Becoming My Own "Adultier Adult"
Many, many times, I have found myself needing an "adultier adult." Simple things like boiling an egg, sewing a button, attempting to clean a kettle, all required someone with more knowledge than myself. An "adultier adult" if you will. Knowing how to do things, even simple things, for oneself is becoming a lost art. Why do things for ourselves when we can just pay someone else? The issue is what if, down the line, there isn't anyone left to do those things? Not just sewing on buttons (we will touch on that topic), but masonry, knitting, embroidery, canning food or gardening? These used to be basic skills. These are skills that used to be common knowledge to past generations. We need to preserve them for future generations. Its time to get back to the simple life.
